Kansas City 2024 Homicide #128: Victim Shot Dead On The Paseo

In a week that witnessed a great deal of violence, a fatality punctuates the end of week news cycle.

Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 75th and Paseo

Tonight just before 6 o’clock officers were dispatched to 75th and Paseo on a shooting call.

On arrival they were directed towards a vehicle that was stopped in the southbound lanes of Paseo.

As they approached the vehicle, they located an adult male shooting victim unresponsive inside the vehicle.

Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and took over.

EMS transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. At the hospital, the victim was declared deceased.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene investigators are here at the scene processing for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was in his vehicle when he was shot by an unknown suspect from outside of the vehicle.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
