Average cowtown voters might not remember any serious challenge to Congressman Cleaver but when TKC first started out in 2004 . . . One of the most interesting political contests we blogged was the congressional battle betwixt former Mayor Emmanuel Cleaver vs. an ambitious young politico named Jamie Metzl. Of course the beloved Kansas City statesman prevailed but Mr. Metzl continued a journey of success that delivered him back to the nation's capitol where he continues to wield influence to this day.
