Show-Me Missouri & Kansas Against Abortion Pill Access

We didn't notice a lot of reporting on this topic during the week but it's the most important development in abortion controversy we've seen since the downfall of Roe Vs. Wade.

Context . . .

States fighting with feds over the abortion pill is the future of the birth control debate given that most pregnancy terminations are now accomplished by way of medication rather than medical procedure.

As always . . .

Technology challenges regulation and political ideology.

Accordingly . . .

Precedent doesn't favor abortion opponents in this fight and, if anything, it's very likely that their legal complaints could establish even more protections for abortion pill access.

Here are the basics from this report . . .

Andrew Bailey joined AGs in Kansas and Idaho in the fight to roll back access to abortion medication Mifepristone across the country by filing a lawsuit against the FDA.

Here is what is included in the filing:

 - Prevent the medication from being mailed to pregnant women
- Making it illegal for minors to receive Mifepristone entirely
- Patients wouldn't be able to use the drug after seven weeks of pregnancy instead of 10
- A patient would have to have three in-person visits with the doctor instead of none.

Missouri files suit to limit access to Mifepristone

The battle comes just weeks before voters decide on whether or not to reverse the state's abortion ban.
