Rep. Crystal Quade Campaigns For Missouri Governor Mostly For Progressive Show

Again . . .

She's actually a great State Rep., she is very competent & smart and her story is captivating.

And we hope we're wrong about this . . .

But . . . The Ghost of Bess Truman has a better chance of being Missouri Guv in November than Quade.

To hear credit . . .

At least she's doing interviews in KC proper whilst Senator Josh Hawley & Lucas Kunce are too scared to talk politics inside KCMO city limits.

But . . . Alas . . . Polling, fundraising and everything else tells us that she's not gonna win.

What's worse is that our journalist colleagues aren't informing voters of as much and that's a reporting sin of omission.

And so . . . We merely wanted to share a brief bit of analysis and this more optimistic encouragement of well-meaning Democratic Party mediocrity . . .

"That's how we won in 2016. We crossed partisan lines. I had my yard sign right next to Trump's yard signs, in the exact same yard," she told KCUR's Up To Date.

Quade is the Democratic leader of Missouri's House of Representatives, first elected to represent part of Springfield in 2016 — a year of major gains for Missouri Republicans. That's informed her approach to lawmaking since.
