KU Lecturer Departs After Outrage Over 'Shoot Them' Comment

Friday finale of a culture war story that sparked culture war outrage and the career conclusion from a low-ranking academic. 

Don't get it twisted . . . TKC agrees with our conservative friends that the comment was inappropriate and the prof probably made the right decision.

What's worse is that students actually sink themselves into debt in order to take notes on that kind of garbage . . . And maybe even worse than that . . . So many progressive pundits wasted time defending the dude or downplaying the implications of his inflammatory remarks.

Barbara Bichelmeyer, KU provost and executive vice chancellor, announced Friday in a statement that the lecturer, Phillip Lowcock, “left the university.” The announcement came two days after a conservative pundit posted a video to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that showed Lowcock addressing a classroom of students and making what the university dubbed an “inappropriate reference to violence.”
