And yet . . .

Kansas remains behind the times and continues to lose cash to its neighbors and miss out on the greatest cash crop boom the nation has seen since the early days of tobacco . . . Here's a bit of the reasoning that is mostly based in fear and denial of the admittedly treacherous future . . . Check-it:

"In 2023 the Kansas Bureau of Investigation opposed a medicinal program because weed is a Schedule I drug under federal law, meaning they have no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. That groups cannabis with heroin, LSD and ecstasy.

"But the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is rescheduling marijuana to a lower severity level, putting it on par with ketamine and certain anabolic steroids.

"That hasn’t changed law enforcement opposition."

Medical marijuana still faces opposition from Kansas law enforcement

The Kansas Legislature is one again debating the merits of medical marijuana. Past proposals have failed, and Kansas police prefer that.
