Law enforcement officials said the victim told both suspects to leave before they became belligerent. As they threatened the victim’s life, he fired his weapon at both. SUSPECT sustained a single gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Research Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators noted that SUSPECT had previously been convicted of burglary, voluntary manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance. SUSPECT has been listed in nearly 40 KCPD reports for stolen vehicles, firearms felonies, possession of stolen property, domestic violence, burglary, theft from vehicles, and aggravated assault.
