Posted for Sunday for a lot of reasons and not only because domestic violence remains a constant threat to women in the KC metro but also because urban police coverage often focuses on the negative and overlooks truly heroic stories like this one . . .
On September 4, they were on patrol when they answered a domestic violence call.
A woman was trying to leave a home when her boyfriend allegedly kidnapped her and her five-month-old.
“They began driving around the city she discreetly called 911 and was able to give information, street names, different businesses she could see all while the man continued to assault her. We did everything we could to try and locate the vehicle and locations she kept putting out,” said KCPD Officer Sarah Holland.
Thanks to teamwork and the woman’s valiant efforts, they were able to find mother and baby - and take them to safety.
