Kansas City Parks Board Member Rejects Washington Square Park For Royals

The idea of downtown Kansas City baseball is once again dying a painful death.

Accordingly . . .

Here's the money line and another sign that this plan might be dead on arrival despite a very successful 2024 turnaround for the team . . .

To change the use of Washington Square Park, the five member Parks and Rec board, including Tom Gorenc, Kansas City Parks and Recreation Board Member, would have to approve it.

“I'm totally against it. My vote would be no. I hate to speak for all the commissioners on the board, but I don't think they'd want to give up Washington Square. I don't think anyone on the board would do that,” Gorenc said.
