Yep, another update on pop culture, community reporting and top headlines. However, this time around we're throwing out a question for all of the spooky late night/early morning denizens of the discourse.
WHAT'S THE SCARIEST PART OF LIVING IN KANSAS CITY 2024?!?
We'll start . . .
Violence is always a big concern for denizens of the urban core but this year we notice that cowtown mass shootings have been steadily increasingly and more likely to impact innocent people.
Apropos for Halloween, locals don't talk about it but Kansas City has become infamous for hosting a growing rat population . . . Don't worry, this isn't a metaphor and nobody is informing authorities about crime. We're talking about real life creepy, crawly, nasty vermin that might be a testament to worsening sewer infrastructure despite MILLIONS worth of repairs.
Finally . . . The toy train has become a local terror train and the frights concerning this mode of transit are nearly limitless. There's rampant taxation, rigged voting and speculative development. Downtown residents should also beware of zombie homeless riders caught in an infinite loop of despair. And worse of all, to add insult to injury, the damn thing shuts down all the time. Add so many "ghost riders" who are unseen but counted to boost transit numbers and Kansas City's streetcar is downright scary.
Of course we'd like to hear your suggestions.
In the meantime . . .
