Kansas City Earns 'Tree Canopy' Fed Cash To Fight Climate Change

Trees are beautiful, productive and always make a city look better no matter partisan stance. 

Whilst we can debate "the science" a few more trees will likely help the metro no matter what . . .

"City staff believe the grant can help the city ingrate its tree canopy by 17% in targeted areas. Planting new trees also aligns with the 2022 Climate Protection and Resiliency Plan which calls for preserving the canopy, planting native trees and reducing greenhouse gases."

Kansas City to receive $12 million to spend on planting new trees

Kansas City is set to use a $12 million federal grant to plant new trees around the city over the next five years.
