KANSAS CITY CHIEFS & ROYALS SEEM TO DEMAND "DESTINATION LOCATION' STADIUMS GOING FORWARD!!!
Sadly . . . They want this kind of thing by using mostly taxpayer cash.
Here's a peek at the verbiage we're liberating today and how it's powering the debate . . .
What’s clear is that their existing arrangements probably will change. Kansas City-based Populous, one of the largest global sports architecture firms, is an authority when it comes to stadium and arena design.
Principal and Senior Urban Designer Riki Nishimura shared insight about what makes a stadium a “destination location” and the key to creating mixed-used developments. The Chiefs and Royals may draw upon such ideas.
And here's the money line . . .
A stadium is not just for game day. Populous also considers how the space will be used before and after games, and during the off season.
“What do you do on non-game days when you don't have the people or the events, where you’re moving 50,000 to 100,000 people?” Nishimura said.
“These venues are not successful, isolated on their own. The success of these venues comes from creating community, connecting with the ancillary development and the mixed-use development that goes around it.”
