Homicide 3600 block of Indiana
On 10/23/24 just after 3:30PM, officers responded to the 3600 block of Indiana Ave on a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers were summoned to a local business where they were being advised of someone shot inside. Officers entered the business and located an adult male victim unresponsive suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. Officers rendered medical aid until EMS arrived and declared the victim deceased. An additional adult male victim responded to an area hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries and is receiving treatment.
Preliminary investigation is believed an interaction occurred between two individuals inside of a store that escalated into gunfire. A person of interest has been detained for further investigation.
This incident is being investigated as homicide is considered ongoing.
Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin gathering any evidence and collecting witness statements.

KCPD responds to homicide inside store: One man dead, one in custody
According to KCPD, it is believed that the shooting was the result of some sort of altercation inside the store which resulted in the shooting death.
Homicide investigation underway in east Kansas City, police say
The Kansas City Police Department announced that the scene was in the 3600 block of Indiana Avenue.
