Kansas City 2024 Homicide #119: Domestic Violence Leaves Victim Dead

Another local dispute turns deadly as KCMO records its 4th homicide in less than 24 hours. 

Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 8800 block NE 105th Pl.

This morning just before 11AM officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of NE. 105th Pl. on a reported cutting.

When officers arrived, they were summoned to a nearby residence where they located an adult male victim inside of a bedroom suffering from apparent stab wounds. EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased at that time.

Preliminary investigation indicates an altercation ensued between the adult male suspect, and the adult male victim. It is believed this is a domestic violence incident at this time. The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival. Detectives have identified a person of interest and are working quickly to locate the subject.

This incident is being investigated as homicide is considered ongoing.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin gathering any evidence and collecting witness statements.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
