Jackson County Fight Over COVID Cash Confronts Refund Deadline

And now we're down to the wire at the courthouse as insiders send an important word our way.

Here's the REAL deal regarding the fate of  American Rescue Plan Act funding . . .

THERE'S A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT JACKSON COUNTY POLITICAL FEUDING COULD RESULT WITH MILLIONS RETURNED TO FEDS!!!

Accordingly . . .

IF THE COURTHOUSE HAS TO GIVE BACK ANY MONEY, EXEC FRANK WHITE'S POLITICAL CAREER IS EFFECTIVELY FINISHED!!!

Remember . . .

Jackson County Legislators are still salty about how the Exec torpedoed the downtown stadium.

And so . . . Payback might be in order given that compromise has been nearly impossible to find at the Courthouse for at least a year.

Oh . . . And BTW . . . The numbers are starting to go haywire . . . Last we heard there was 70 MILLION BUCKS worth of COVID cash that needed to be distributed . . . Now the number is hovering around 30 given that so much money often disappears on both sides of 12th & Oak.

Meanwhile . . .

A quote from recent reporting that might be worth remembering . . .

"No ARPA funds will be released without an agreement between the Executive and Legislative branches."

Accordingly . . .

Exec Frank has to find the votes on the Legislature to pass his Christmas giveaway plans OR . . .

He could be saddled with the biggest public humiliation of his career.
