Ivanhoe Rebuilds After Chaotic Firings

This morning let's take another peek inside Kansas City nonprofit life and sketchy decisions that involve a great deal of taxpayer cash:

Last week, that community voted to remove the board that fired the staff. Now, two staff members are back and trying to make up for lost time.

“I think we owe it to the community, we owe it to the residents, we owe it to the membership, to do everything in our power to make sure that we deliver and I very much intend on doing that,” said interim executive director Alana Henry.

Henry was one of several staff members impacted by the terminations. Her firing was reversed after a membership attorney found the board of directors violated the bylaws. Membership voted 68 to 11 to have the board of directors removed at a meeting on Sept. 28.
