"A Royals ballpark at Washington Square Park and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City's soon-to-be-empty headquarters site potentially could use 18,133 existing parking spaces within a four-block radius, or roughly half a mile. That includes 14,673 spaces in garages, 2,840 in surface lots and 620 on-street spaces, according to analysis by a local team led by 3D Development. The group's concepts began developing in January and precipitated site evaluations by Mayor Quinton Lucas' office and the Royals in recent months, after the team's unsuccessful April sales tax vote. The concepts were unveiled publicly in late August."
