Rapper Tech N9ne Proclaims: Kansas City Chiefs Help Cut Crime

Continued Super Bowl victory might be the cure for local violence according to this town's favorite rapper.

Whilst we respect his musical legacy . . . His bold statement doesn't exactly stand up to even a cursory fact check.

For instance . . .

After the Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 2023 . . . Kansas City suffered it's most deadly year in recorded history.

Right now the homicide number has dropped but locals report a significant spike in both property crime and OF COURSE this year has been tarnished by the deadly shootings of both Lisa Lopez-Galvan at the Super Bowl Chiefs Rally and Shaun Brady at the outset of the regular season.

Regular readers should know that TKC is a longtime fan of Tech and overall we would never diminish his contribution to the local music scene.

Furthermore . . . Before our readers criticism him too much, let's remember that this guy has basically proved himself a savior for so many KC rappers. Tech N9ne single-handedly turned local rap music into a BUSINESS rather than an extension of gang culture and offered OPPORTUNITY to so many rappers to focus on entrepreneurship rather than doing dangerous promotion for crime syndicates that have been nothing more than a dead-end for so many hip-hop communities across the nation.

Still . . .

We respectfully disagree with his optimistic take on local crime at the impact of Super Bowl champs.

Here's what he had to say . . .

“Whenever the Chiefs are up, crime and killings are down in Kansas City,” Tech N9ne explained. “I’ve noticed the morale in the town. Man, when the Chiefs are up, when the Chiefs are winning, we’re all winning. I’m sure if you talk to the PD (Police Department), they will say the same thing. I mean, things change in the streets. From what I see from where I’m standing.”
