Open Letter: Kansas City Biz Leader Demands Better From Mayor Q

Tonight we highlight one of the most scathing Kansas City critiques we've ever read concerning Mayor Quinton Lucas and it comes from one of his supporters.

Kansas City knows the Shatto Milk Company well . . . They produce homegrown treats & dairy products that are beloved by most locals. The company has a sterling reputation and they've often been celebrated by publications both big & small for their ethical and sustainable small biz practices.

Today . . . Noticed by our BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS . . .

CEO MATT SHATTO TAKES MAYOR Q TO TASK REGARDING THE RECENT UPTICK IN CRIME TARGETING SMALL BIZ!!!

EVEN BETTER . . .

SHATTO REBUKES THE CASH BACK PAYOUT REMEDY OFFERED BY CITY HALL!!!

We don't want to waste any time with our commentary and so we'll share this observation quickly:

When beloved local small biz starts calling out Mayor Q . . . It's now obvious that locals aren't satisfied with the leadership that 12th & Oak is offering amid another deadly year of local crime and increased/rampant stealing.

Here's the passage that stands out which isn't hateful or mean-spirited but merely pleads for help and that public safety serve as the top priority for the current administration . . .

"You were elected due to your perceived leadership ability, as a business owner in your community I’m asking what you’re doing to lead on this issue?  Providing local businesses money to fortify their doors is not the answer.  All of our conversations this morning within our community have been about what we has private citizens can do to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into cameras on the streets, additional security presence on the private side.

"We pay taxes for public safety. But we are not safe in public."

"If we’re going to be responsible for providing our own public safety, then simply give us a rebate on those taxes and stop pretending like we’re getting something for those dollars.   You walk around with two security guards at a time, I’ve seen you numerous times in the airport with such. But we can’t even get a police presence in the River Market for a considerable number of businesses that I would argue are just as important as you are."
