Newsflash: Kansas City Quietly Settling EPIC Firefighter Lawsuit

Behind the scenes, on the QT and very hush, hush . . . Kansas City is soon to pay out 1.3-MILLION-BUCKS amid an EPIC firefighter lawsuit. 

Check the minutes of this week's council session and notice the cash settlement recommended from the Public Official Liability Fund that comes right out of the budget and not from some insurance company.

What's interesting about this down-low disclosure . . .

More to the point . . . 

For years the KCFD has tried to convince us of an impending "synergy" between paramedics and firefighters but that doesn't seem to apply to ladies who take up the profession. 

To be fair . . . Here at www.TonysKansasCity.com we've noted that KCFD is making some progress against the frat house vibe that still dominates many stations . . . Real talk . . . Preserving firefighter "culture" isn't worth taxpayers having to shell out MILLIONS for conduct that is allegedly less than professional.

We don't begrudge this lady her settlement given that some news reports contend that DNA testing was used to verify her claims.

What's most important in this case is that locals are paying for KCFD behavior problems and the EPIC cash is mostly hidden from the spotlight.
