Mayor Q Offers Crime Payback For Embattled Kansas City Biz

"On Wednesday, Kansas, City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas announced plans to seek approval for a $325,000 back to business fund that would help small businesses get back open if they fall victim to property crimes and for businesses to take preventative measures.

The Mayor indicated that up to $3,000 per business will be made available for repairs related to incidents that happened between July 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025, if the ordinance is passed. Up to $5,000 per business would be made available for security measures acquired during that same time period."
