Kansas City Touts Tech Job Future 2024

Local biz leaders are still optimistic about the digital future of this cowtown. 

However . . . 

Long gone are the days when enthusiastic locals claim this town is the centerpiece of  "Silicon Prairie" with a straight face. 

To be fair . . .

Despite conservative and corporate real estate resistance, the work-at-home movement has a lot more people "phoning-it-in" in a proverbial sense. 

And so . . .

Tonight we share this upbeat note about locals calling teleconferencing "work" nowadays . . .

More than 77,000 skilled professionals, representing 9 percent of Kansas City’s total economic output, are employed in tech, said Lowe, president and CEO of the KC Tech Council, presenting data from her organization’s just-released KC Tech Specs report.

It’s a testament to the city’s strong cross-industry tech presence, she added.
