Kansas City Streetcar Construction Threatens Lady Soccer Attendance

A bad situation near the River Market is going to get even worse in the very near future.

To wit . . .

KC CURRENTS PARKING PROBLEMS WILL SUFFER AN EPIC SETBACK WHEN THE TOY TRAIN CUTS OFF THE QUICKEST ROUTE TO THE LADY SOCCER STADIUM!!!

The newspaper is trying to convince fans that it won't be a huge hassle and threatens to take fans through some pretty sketchy parts of the city.

Here's their transit spin . . .

Some call it the Grand Boulevard Bridge. Online maps refer to it as Berkley Parkway. With no sidewalk, it’s common to see pedestrians walking along its narrow shoulder between Chinatown Food Market and riverfront attractions like Bar K and the new CPKC Stadium.

But not for long.

This curving stretch of road will temporarily close Monday, Sept. 9, and remain closed to all traffic for two months. That includes pedestrians, bikers, drivers and stadium shuttle buses.
