Homicide 9600 Block of Ditman Way

This morning just before 10:45am officers were dispatched to a house in 9600 block of Ditman Way on a shooting call.

On arrival officers located two adult male shooting victims in front of the residence.

Both victims were transported to the hospital by EMS with gunshot injuries.

One of the victims is being treated for what’s thought to be non-life threatening injuries. The other victim was declared deceased by hospital staff.

Preliminary information according to people that were at the scene when police arrived indicates that prior to the shooting the deceased victim arrived at the residence and an argument erupted which escalated and led to gunfire between both shooting victims, and both victims were struck.

The victims are known to one another and detectives are not looking for any additional suspects.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
