Judge Keeps Juvenile In Custody After Beloved Kansas City Irish Chef Gunned Down

The 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Jackson County Judge Jennifer Phillips made her decision Wednesday morning at the juvenile’s first court appearance since his arrest.

The 10th grader appeared in court with representation and his father at the Family Justice Center. Their representation asked he be monitored at Hilltop Residential Center in Lee’s Summit but that request was denied.

The juvenile is charged with second-degree murder and attempted stealing.

2nd juvenile charged in Shaun Brady's homicide makes first court appearance

The second person charged in Shaun Brady's death will stay in the juvenile detention center at least until the end of September.
