In fairness . . . Directing low-end offenders and first timers into a diversion program is standard practice. 

Then again . . . Anybody else caught driving UNDER SUSPICION might confront more complicated legal consequences before pleading down.

"According to Johnson County court records, Kansas City Chiefs linemen Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick have had their marijuana possession charges dismissed in diversion agreements."

Marijuana charges dismissed for two Chiefs players in Johnson County

The two players were arrested and charged in May after a traffic stop.
