Jackson County Prosecutor Debate POSTPONED

UPDATE -- POSTPONED -- Here's the word from Democratic Party candidate Melesa Johnson

"I am deeply saddened to announce that this evening’s Jackson County Prosecutor Candidate forum has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. I was genuinely looking forward to sharing my platform and engaging in a meaningful conversation about the future of our community.

"Fortunately, the debate will be rescheduled, and I look forward to having the opportunity to share my vision for Jackson County with you very soon."

Tonight there's a political showdown that hasn't escaped the attention for our blog community.

Insiders tell us . . .

"The Jackson County Prosecutor’s election will be the most important and consequential election in decades."

That's 100% correct.

A bit of background . . .

Conventional thinking believes the Democratic candidate has the advantage given that KCMO is, in fact a Democratic Party stronghold.

However . . .

This election has been dominated by racially-charged rhetoric and it's NOT EXACTLY PARTISAN CONCERNS that have motivated most voters this election cycle . . . Therefore we're optimistic that the electorate will view the candidates on the merits of their ideas, experience and future plans rather than prioritize party affiliation.

However . . . We wouldn't be telling our readers the truth if we didn't acknowledge that the Democratic Party candidate has the advantage and usually wins over the course of modern history.
