Foodie Mistakenly Picks Texas BBQ Over Kansas City Offerings

Actually . . . This is a pretty decent foodie write-up with only one problem . . .

THERE ISN'T ANY DECENT BBQ PLACE IN DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY!!! AND THIS CLUELESS SCRIBE WAS SEARCHING FOR KC BBQ IN THE LAME-A$$ P&L DISTRICT!!!

Other choices like Joe's KC and Arthur Bryant's were solid but this town's corporate party zone doesn't really have much in common with the rest of the metro and doesn't really represent the best of this cowtown.

Still . . . Even amid criticism we admire his high praise of local offerings . . .

"Kansas City does beef burnt ends better than anyone. It's like sliced brisket to Central Texas, and at Joe's, eating one burnt end piece is like a religious experience. I shut my eyes and let the smoky flavor take hold. Later, since I took a few back to the hotel as leftovers, they tasted even better."

Is Kansas City barbecue better than Texas? We traveled for the answer.

No barbecue is bad barbecue, but in a world where everyone wants to know the winner, there's a clear one in the smoked meat game.
