DUI Arrest After Deadly Lenexa Crash

We normally don't cover car crashes but this one seems pretty serious and reminds us all that a great deal of danger on local streets (ALLEGEDLY) involves bad decisions regarding substance abuse.

Here's what we know right now . . .

[Police] determined the 31-year-old was driving a Subaru WRX and rear-ended a Nissan Altima. The impact sent both vehicles off the road.

A 72-year-old woman in the Nissan died of her injuries. A 74-year-old man in the Nissan was transported to a hospital, but is expected to survive.

Lenexa police said officers arrested the 31-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence after he was released from the hospital Saturday night.
