Belton Carjacking Postscript: Metro Fears Kansas City Crime Commuting?!?

This week we noticed an inordinate amount of traffic and interest into a story that didn't seem so significant.

In Kansas City proper . . . Carjackings aren't common but they're certainly not out of the ordinary.

Meanwhile, from neighbors in Belton . . .

We notice that quickly distributed mugshots, online chatter and even speedy charges dominated the conversation. From our vantage . . . The trend is noteworthy inasmuch as it seems to suggest that the "surrounds" are increasingly concerned about the prospect of KCMO crime spillover.

Whilst some of that fear is fair & justified . . . Most of our broke-ass rural neighbors living in trailer parks or "rustic" shacks probably don't need to worry. No one is coming to interrupt their misery.

Don't get it twisted, Belton probably has much nicer vistas than our humble basement abode. It's just that we merely want to reassure our rural pals that local crooks have more than enough homegrown soft targets that branching out isn't REALLY a necessity and this swift action by police proves that the sticks are more quick to respond to traveling KC crime.
