Aftermath: Tragic Kansas City Northland Crossover Crash Kills Two

This scary collision made headlines today and it's worth considering given worsening danger on local streets that politicos are trying to address by way of urban core streetscaping schemes. 

Here are the deets . . .

According to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department, the crash happened around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 1.

A silver Mitsubishi Outlander with two passengers under the age of 18 was speeding east on Parvin Road when it crossed the double yellow lines for unknown reasons. The Mitsubishi hit a blue Ford Transit van that was driving west head-on.

KCPD said the Mitsubishi driver was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The two juvenile passengers were taken to an area hospital with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics also took the Ford’s driver, adult passenger, and an unknown number of juvenile passengers to the hospital. The driver later died while the passengers are reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two drivers died on Sunday and several passengers were injured after a car crossed over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic.
