SHOCK: Independence Center Deadly Mass Shooting Charges Dropped

We double down on this story because it's clear the bad news MIGHT have been strategically released late last evening and right before the local news switched over to carry the highly anticipated first night of the Democratic Nation Convention. 

Our main takeaway regarding the disappointing news that follows several teens evading adult charges following the deadly Chiefs Super Bowl rally mass shooting . . . 

JACKSON COUNTY JUST DOESN'T SEEM INTERESTED IN WORKING TO CHARGE DEADLY MASS SHOOTINGS!!!

That's a scary proposition for any community but something that should resonate as local voters will pick a new Prosecutor in November.

OF COURSE TKC is NOT advocating charges against the innocent.

However . . . 

IT'S FAIR TO EXPRESS FRUSTRATION AFTER SO MANY SUSPECTS WALK AWAY SCOT-FREE FOLLOWING A WOMAN AND HER BABY GUNNED DOWN AT THE MALL!!!

Moreover . . . 

It's this age of mass surveillance it strains credulity to imagine that there is no reliable evidence to at least level gun charges against suspects in the shooting. 

Again . . .

That's not our decision to make but for at least a few more weeks voters are allowed to question elected officials and mourn the dearth of justice amid lives lost.

Karla Brown, a 19-year-old pregnant woman, was killed in the shooting after gunfire broke out between two groups of individuals.

Court documents filed in November 2023 say Independence police reviewed surveillance footage showing the two groups coming together, engaging in conversation, and then moving to the breezeway between two rows of glass doors at the north entrance of the mall, where the shooting occurred . . . 

All six felony charges have been dropped, per the prosecutor’s office.

A spokesperson said that considering depositions that are now completed, and new evidence that’s come to light, the prosecutor’s office no longer believed it could meet its burden of proof, which is beyond a reasonable doubt.
