Mayor Lucas says the city is trying their best to combat the issues, but he acknowledged actions speak louder than words.
“There are a lot of issues that confront our city. A lot of shopping centers, a lot of crime, don’t have enough officers, don’t have enough detention beds, don’t have enough of all of that,” Lucas said. “After a while, that starts to sound like an excuse. What we’re saying is there really can’t be excuses.”
