Kansas City 2024 Homicide #103: Teen Dies Days After Swope Parkway Fight

Homicide 5000 blk of Swope LATE DEATH

On 08-21-24 at about 6:30 PM patrol officers responded to the 5000 block of Swope Parkway on a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival officers located an adult male suffering from head trauma.  Officers ordered EMS to the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital.  Preliminary investigation revealed that there was an interaction between multiple individuals that led to the victim being struck with an object.   

On 08-26-24 Kansas City, Missouri Homicide Detectives were notified that the victim had succumbed to their injuries.  The case has subsequently been turned over to the Homicide Unit.

If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.

KCPD: Argument leads to head trauma, 18-year-old killed

18-year-old man dies six days after suffering head trauma

According to Kansas City police, Ashline Montague died on Monday after being hit with "an object" around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 near Swope Parkway and Blue Parkway
