Jackson County Confronts Court Fight FAIL Against Missouri

Despite bold statements this week and dueling press conferences, there still isn't much detail on legal challenges against a recent roll back ruling from the Missouri State Tax Commission.

In fact, we're kind of embarrassed that nobody asked this one but our KICK-ASS & TRUSTED READERS:

EXACTLY HOW IS THE PROPERTY TAX ROLLBACK RULING AGAINST JACKSON COUNTY UNCONSTITUTIONAL?!?!

Sadly, we'll have to wait for the impending court fight for a detailed explanation.

Don't hold your breath.

However . . .

We wouldn't be surprised if this argument is quickly dismissed if that's the only card they've got to play.

The downside . . .

This week we learned that Mayor Q fought with police over the course of years and cost taxpayers MILLIONS. And it's very likely that "Team Frank" might try to take the same tact.

In the meantime . . . Behind the scenes the Legislature is searching for ways to contradict the Executive.

Here are just a few . . .

- Already Legislator Sean Smith is on record with his opinion that the County should follow the ruling from Missouri

- Look for a fight over an impending resolution wherein the majority of Legislators endorse the proposed roll back.

- Expect Missouri Tax Commission rebuttal citing the constitutionality of their ruling and their authority to make the decision along with some legal precedent.

- However . . . Insiders note that the Exec recently cut the purse strings of the Legislature and they'll have a tougher time finding a lawyer to take action against the Executive's legal crusade. They're only hope is a bit of unity in order cut-off the Executive's control of the County Counselor.
