Downtown Kansas City Debuts Bar For Women's Sports: Will It Work?!?

Of course, as always . . . We hope for success and wish the best for anyone starting a biz inside the loop.

However . . . This blog would be remiss and unhelpful if we didn't share our concerns.

Accordingly . . .

ARE THERE ENOUGH FANS TO SUPPORT BARS FOR WOMEN'S SPORTS WHEN EVEN HIGHLY TOUTED LADY SOCCER SEEMS LIKE A TOUGH SELL?!?!

Remember that TKC documented a great many EMPTY FRONT ROW SEATS despite a recent "Women's Cup" championship victory . . .

To be fair . . .

Closer proximity to booze, bathrooms, parking & curly fries might make watching lady games much more pleasant.

With more explanation . . . Here's an apt quote from former KC Star newsie Joyce Smith helping local lady restaurateurs preach their gospel . . .

The Dub is short for “w” or win, and a nod to women, and they liked that the space is close to the Kansas City Current stadium . . .

“We are not a bar for women but a bar for women’s sports. Where anyone feels comfortable coming in at any time of day,” Brady said. “We’re just really excited to bring this concept to Kansas City. We are pumped, we can't wait.”
