Campaign 2024 Distracts Kansas City Mayor Q From His Job?!?

The question of Mayor Q's involvement in support for the Harris/Walz ticket on a national level is gaining momentum amongst mainstream local newsies but we notice social media followers are already forming strong opinions.

And so we ask two questions on the topic . . . Here's a good place to start:

HAS CAMPAIGN 2024 COMPLETELY DISTRACTED MAYOR Q FROM HIS LOCAL JOB DUTIES?!?!

Consider . . . This weekend he's just getting around to responding to a robbery spree that happened on Sunday night last week.

We agree with his take on the topic but, clearly there isn't any sense of urgency in his remarks.

Here's what he had to say . . .

“There is no such thing as ‘petty crime’ for victims,” Mayor Quinton Lucas told KCTV5 on Saturday. “Robberies, break-ins, vandalism, and beyond is something we will never accept in Kansas City.”

Lucas says the rash of crimes in the city needs to stop.

“Prevention, accountability, and making sure the people of Kansas City know all of us care is something I will work with the police department on to ensure we are not hearing some of the same stories we saw earlier this week.”

Also this weekend, the mayor mostly focused on Harris/Walz campaigning and seems far more engaged in the progressive push to win in November . . . Here's one of his latest social media messages . . .

"Just spent a wonderful evening across the line in Johnson County for the @JoCoDemsKS Forever the Free State event. Absolutely outstanding energy in Democratic organizations and exceptional remarks by local, state, and federal leaders. Everyone is excited heading into November!

And so . . . Here's the second question . . .

HOW CAN VOTERS REFOCUS MAYOR Q'S ATTENTION BACK ON KANSAS CITY?!?

Sure . . . He's entitled to uphold the party line . . . But locals are noticing very little interest in pressing local issues from the Mayor's office and there's still a great deal of time left in his term and a lot of local work to accomplish.

Per ushe . . . We look forward to helpful suggestions from out www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community.
