Allow us a leap in order to consider local discourse and challenges confronting the nation in the aftermath of an assassination attempt on former Prez Trump.
First . . .
Over the past year KCPD Chief Graves has confronted repeated criticism about her management style.
Only now . . . Amid a significant drop in local homicides has the Chief been able to silence a rising wave of criticism at the outset of the year.
Despite her stellar career, awards, honors and a great deal of support from the rank & file . . . Some criticism directed against the Chief focuses on her ability to run the department and "down low" rumors that she's not "REALLY" in charge . . . The politically motivated scuttlebutt claims that her husband (a former high ranking KCPD leader) or Mayor Q hold the REAL power over her administration.
SIMILARLY . . .
Here's a peek at a comparable criticism leveled at lady Secret Service agents and their leader.
The basics . . .
"The most common complaints against the agents include the fact that they were, according to posters online, too small, overweight, and in one case, incapable of handling their guns."
And so . . .
We're not gonna making a ruling here . . .
Instead, we'll leave this discussion to our blog community and only contend that it's important to acknowledge this debate AND THE IMPLICATIONS FOR ALL LADY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS UP TO & INCLUDING OUR OWN KCPD CHIEF . . .
