New Recall Effort Confronts Jackson County Exec Frank White

So, the last time we heard about recall efforts against the Exec the local yokel operation was nothing more than a half-hearted and disorganized endeavor from the political denizens of Eastern Jack.

About six months from their start date . . . Despite good intentions and grassroots political organizing, it's uncertain if their petition is valid, they still don't have enough signatures and the seemingly impressive group of more than 2,000 FB followers has lost momentum.

We don't have anything against the denizens of this well-meaning group, but nowadays signature collecting is dominated by professionals and homespun movements can merely serve to help or spark the effort not perform the laborious biz of political organizing in Summer heat.

And so . . .

With election season underway . . . We've got a bit of news to share courtesy of trusted insiders . . .

KANSAS CITY CONSTRUCTION INTERESTS & OTHERS FUND A NEW RECALL EFFORT AGAINST THE EXEC THAT STARTS WITH SIGNATURE GATHERING DURING AUGUST PRIMARIES!!!

The basics . . .

Just as our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community has contended . . .

For better or worse, The Jackson County Exec has served as the main opponent of stadium taxes and, as an elected official his words resonate far more than activist outcry.

Forces that want to keep the Chiefs & Royals in Kansas City proper understand that as long as the Exec remains in office . . . He'll have an important platform to rebuke their plans and local media is obliged to report his remarks.

Here's what we don't know . . .

How much support does the Exec really have?!?!? Enough to beat a recall and convince political players that it's not worth their time?!?

Even in the comments of this blog we've seen property tax frustration reemerge as a new round of assessments awaits residents in 2025.

Either way . . .

A new Missouri governor and the last ditch effort to garner taxpayer financing puts the Jackson County Exec under fire from the biggest biz leaders and the deepest pockets in the metro.

Developing . . .
