Missouri Guv Contender Bill Eigel Produces HILARIOUS Deportation Advert En Español

Okay . . .

Of course, the "appropriate" reaction here might be feigned outrage or self-righteous indignation but there's simply no denying that the latest advert from Missouri state senator Bill Eigel is campy, hysterically funny and possibly iconic.

Eigel's advert is right up there with that old-school "I learned it by watching you" anti-drug commercial, that 40-something stoners still recite to one another whilst getting high.

Yes, the anti-immigration marching order is NEARLY that good and Mr. Eigel's satisfied cheeser-smile makes us wonder if he knows he's being ridiculous and having a great time of it as well.

The basics . . .

"Missouri gubernatorial candidate Bill Eigel released a campaign ad featuring a Spanish translator telling illegal immigrants that they will be deported if he is elected."

A few more things to note . . .

- Good for him for getting a shorter guy as the translator to highlight the comedic effect.

- The American flag in the background uses that same motif as the 1970 classic Patton. What Mr. Eigel might not realize is that budding screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola was also putting on a bit when he helped to write that scene and it's really a cinematic double entendre that also spoke to anti-war activists.

- Finally . . . It may not seem like it . . . But these kind of dramatic gestures typically signal that the fight is already lost. We hope that's not the case because Missouri culture has charms all its own even as rising fear that Ozarks are becoming Northern Guatemala are PROBABLY overwrought.

Postscript . . . Maybe this kind of thing wont' be as funny if/when TKC gets deported. Even if Tony's Torreón kinda has a ring to it.

Anyhoo . . . Here's the mission statement for the advert and more reporting . . .

“My latest TV ad is a simple message to illegal immigrants: The party’s over,” he said in a post on X. “Pack your bags. You’re getting the hell outta here.”

In the ad, a Spanish translator flanks his left, paraphrasing what he says.

“No more illegals,” the translator says in Spanish. “No more money. The party’s over.”
