There's really only one thing to talk about tonight and we want to know what our readers in Kansas City think about it.
FORMER PREZ TRUMP SURVIVES GUNFIRE AT TODAY'S RALLY AND THRUSTS HIS DEFIANT FIST IN THE AIR AFTERWARDS!!!
Like it or not, this is history in the making and probably a sign that this election season will be the most tumultuous we've seen in generations.
Our takeaways . . .
- This reminds us of Teddy Roosevelt nearly getting clipped — Afterwards, he got back up, finished his speech to the crowd and secured his legend following an assassination plot.
- Sorry for Democratic Party loyalists . . . The raised fist in front of the flag reaction is "the most American" thing we've seen in our lives and probably secures the presidency for the Don if he can make it to the vote.
- Talkers like Tucker Carlson and others have openly feared that the former Prez is a marked man. Today's shooting spree speaks to those suspicions.
Again . . . This post is merely to gauge the opinion of our readership and direct locals to better sources. Here are the basics and better reporting:
A local prosecutor said the suspected gunman and at least one attendee are dead. The Secret Service said two spectators were critically injured.
Posting on his Truth Social media site about two and a half hours after the shooting, Trump said a bullet “pierced the upper part of my right ear.”
“I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin,” he said in the post. “Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.”
