One of the accused shooters in the Feb. 14, 2024, Super Bowl victory rally at Union Station has been indicted by a Jackson County grand jury on a new Class A felony charge for his role in the incident, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

Lyndell Mays will be arraigned today on the new charge, Causing Catastrophe.* A Jackson County grand jury late last week added the charge, alleging the defendant knowingly caused a catastrophe by releasing a crowd surge or stampede of people that caused serious physical injury  to 10 or more people.*

"For those individuals who were at the parade and rally who received injuries that required medical treatment please notify the prosecutor's office at (816) 881-3513," Prosecutor Baker stated.
