KANSAS CITY'S A/C CRACKDOWN THREATENS TO CHASE AWAY EVEN MORE HOME PROVIDERS!!!
Here's a peek at good intentions that will inspire many more people to get out of the housing game:
(An ordinance) encourages property managers to contact the Department of Health and immediately notify the director of a system-wide HVAC outage that has lasted more than 12 hours in a multi-unit apartment complex.
When the AC is down for longer than 12 hours, the City Manager would start an emergency response plan that includes services for tenants.
Because a lack of AC would also fall under the Healthy Homes Rental Inspection Program, it would allow the city to revoke or suspend a landlord’s rental permits, issue a citation or fine, or order a portion of the building to be vacated.
