Kansas City Dude Fell 60ft From Tree Amid QT Ruckus

"According to KCPD, the QuikTrip at 6551 E Front St. called the police on an individual who was acting erratically and causing a disturbance in the store. By the time officers arrived, however, the man was gone.

"An hour later, around 3:30 a.m., another nearby business called for help after hearing a person calling for help from a tree off Front Street.

"On arrival, KCFD rescue crews discovered a man stuck over 60 feet up in a large tree and said it was unknown “if he got stuck or scared and could not get himself down.”

"As firefighters prepared to send climbers up to rescue the man, he began climbing higher in the tree. He reached a point where the branches could no longer hold his weight and he fell to the ground below."

The Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) responded to a reported "high-angle rescue" at approximately 3:30 a.m. Monday, July 15 at 14th and Universal Avenue off Front Street.
