Kansas City Approves Crackdown Against Election Interference

Actually . . .

Messing with elections is federal offense in most serious instances and it's pretty rare because most sane people understand that hassling old school workers isn't really productive, is very risky and won't stop conspiracy theories mostly spread by foreign intelligence services, bots and all manner of online trolls.

However . . .

Those of us who know how Kansas City municipal government works realize that these penalties are pretty paltry and mostly serve as a reminder to many locals that they shouldn't get carried away by 3rd tier online content and message board ranting. 

Here are the basics . . .

"The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate and punish acts of aggression, violence, threats of violence, interference, or intimidation, or acts of disorderly conduct that disrupt or interfere with the conducting of an election or an election worker in the discharge of an election workers official duties," the ordinance states.
