Kansas City 2024 Homicide #77: Senior Lady Shot Dead At Intersection

It's only Wednesday night and already we have three homicide documented again this week.

Homicide 51st and Park - LATE DEATH

On 06/30/24 about 9:45PM officers were dispatched to 51st and Park on a shooting call.

On arrival to the area officers located a shooting victim, an adult female, unresponsive inside a vehicle at the intersection there.

The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS with life threatening injuries. The victim remained in the hospital with critical injuries.

At that time detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene and began to process the scene for evidence and canvass for potential witnesses.

The case continued to be investigated in the days that followed. This morning, detectives were notified the victim died from her injuries. The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation as of today and they continue to work to develop subject(s) of interest and piece together what led up to the shooting.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

Woman dies days after Sunday night shooting in KCMO

A 79-year-old woman has died days after a Sunday night shooting in Kansas City.

KCPD reports that officers were dispatched at around 9:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they located a shooting victim, Ella Monroe, 79, unresponsive inside a vehicle at the intersection of 51st and Park Ave.
