Two things . . .
The NLBM is the only attraction that consistently draws a crowd in this entertainment district other than a very successful daiquiri bar that sometimes hosts EXTREMELY WORTHWHILE booty shaking events.
However . . .
Hotels can be risky biz even in the best parts of town.
Either way . . .
Local funding didn't encounter much debate and the connection to a very popular attraction might give it better chances at success.

Negro League Baseball Hotel included in museum's expansion project
The Negro League Baseball Museum expansion project is growing with two developers promising to bring a 100-unit hotel on top of that expansion and up to 200 apartments next door to it.
