It has been awhile since we've checked in our favorite suburb in all the world.
The latest update . . .
ALLEGATIONS OF SOCIAL MEDIA TRICKERY AND BULLYING HAVE BEEN EXCHANGED IN THE PRAIRIE VILLAGE BATTLE ROYALE THAT COULD DETERMINE THE FATE OF THIS ENCLAVE!!!
We might do a follow-up but we want to be as fair as possible and present the argument as objectively as we can . . . Our bias is that we recognize many homeowners have been unfairly smeared by so many suburban activists who wrongly see a longstanding debate over zoning as culture war and not residents exercising their rights.
First . . .
Here's an extended quote & highlights of what the recall opponents can share with us right now . . .
"Prairie Village Ward 6 Councilman Ian Graves bullies recall petitioners . . .
"As Prairie Village residents continue their push to get the Mayor recall on the November ballot you unfortunately have an elected official trying to bully and intimidate the petition gatherers, other councilmembers and even the residents signing the petitions.
"Citizen petitions and the recall process are rights that residents are allowed under Kansas state statutes and are part of a legal democratic process. Mr. Graves should know that intimidation and harassment are not and is completely blinded to his hypocrisy and lack of transparency. The Mayor, Eric Mikkelson, had 30 days from the JoCo DA's recall approval on May 20th to challenge the petitioner's allegations for recall but chose not to . . ."
AND THEN . . .
Here's how the PV Councilman starts his rebuttal:
"I was made aware of a post by a member of the recall petition group that they determined that I requested and shared lists of their recall circulators.
"This is true. I have asked for those lists from the election office and shared them widely with interested persons within and without Prairie Village. Per state statute (KSA 25-4320, link in comments), these lists are public documents that the election office must make available to anyone for inspection."
And so . . .
We'll let readers make the call here as this story is quickly moves forward.

PV Councilman Ian Graves: "One can email the election office or walk into the building to request these records. What anyone does with copies of these records is their decision. It's public."
