Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes endorses State Representative Patty Lewis for State Senate

State Reprepresentative Patty Lewis (D-25) announced that Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes has voted to endorse her campaign for Missouri Senate District 7. With reproductive rights front of mind for voters across Kansas City and Missouri, PPGPV’s support confirms that State Rep. Lewis is the best pro-choice candidate in the Democratic primary for SD7.

“Patty Lewis has clearly demonstrated her commitment to sexual and reproductive health care and rights and to Planned Parenthood’s mission, services, and the families Planned Parenthood serves,” said Emily Wales, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes. “We look forward to her work in an elected office so she can continue to defend against the attacks on reproductive health care AND support a commonsense focus on expanding access to preventive health care.”

“As a nurse, I believe that it is my duty to fight for reproductive freedom,” State Rep. Lewis said. “I thank Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes for their endorsement, and I’m excited to continue working with them to expand access to reproductive health care both within SD7 and across the state of Missouri.”

State Rep. Lewis has garnered support from a wide range of people and organizations since announcing her candidacy for the 7th Senate District, including Sen. Tracy McCreery (D-24), Rep. Emily Weber (D-24), City Councilman Wes Rogers, Missouri Nurses Association, AFT Local 691, Teamsters Locals 41 and 541, IAFF Local 42, Laborers Locals 264 and 663, IBEW Local 124, and the Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO. Lewis has represented Missouri’s 25th House District for four years, and is currently running to fill the vacancy in the 7th Senate District created by a gubernatorial appointment.
