Kansas City Faith Scribe Considers Local Impact of Holy Land War

Newsman turned blogger and occasional freelancer Bill Tammeus goes out on a limb for Sunday and offers readers and in-depth report on Kansas City faith community reaction in a time of war around the world and as conflict rages in one of the most sacred parts of the world.

We've often criticized Mr. Tammeus for his progressive worldview that often contradicts the old school religions he often considers . . . HOWEVER, there is no denying his commitment to reporting on the issues confronting local people of faith and the many challenges they confront.

From our perspective, our TKC blog community is the ONLY place in this town that will provide an honest, critical and often cantankerous consideration of this report.

"Since that day, of course, much has changed as Israel, in turn, has unleashed its military to try to destroy Hamas in Gaza, complicating matters there and abroad in ways that affect more than just Jewish people. The result is that priests, imams, pastors and other clergy members also have been called to respond in some way.

"But it’s Kansas City’s rabbis who still feel and still respond to the effects of the initial shock and an appalling resurgence of antisemitism since then."
